Pressure Flow–Based Algorithms for Pressure-Driven Analysis of Water Distribution Networks

چکیده

In recent years, pressure-driven analyses of water distribution systems using pressure-flow relationships (PFRs) were shown to be more computationally efficient than those based on flow-pressure (FPRs), such as the widely used Wagner equation and various spline approximations. Using a PFR enhances convergence properties Newton–Raphson method by most network (WDN) solvers. This paper derives new way incorporating into classical Todini Pilati global gradient algorithm (GGA). The resulting solution are compared with from two other existing algorithms, EPANET 2.2 active-set (ASM), well conventional flow-pressure–based number different networks varying size.

Pressure Dependent Stochastic Reliability Analysis of Water Distribution Networks

Any reliability analysis based on just deterministic values of daily average or peak demands, cannot represent the overall system reliability realistically. Using a stochastic model in this paper variations of the system and nodal reliability values are investigated through a period of time. Considering probabilistic nature of demands, this paper combines the extended period simulation of water...

development of pressure management analytical equations in water distribution networks

extended abstract abstract pressure management is an effective method for water demand management. for evaluation of the effects of pressure changes on leakage level of water networks, the favad equation is usually used. however, in this equation, exponent of pressure parameter (n) needs to be determined. for estimation of n, either some information about the leak opening is necessary or networ...

Head-Driven Simulation of Water Supply Networks

Up to now most of the existing water supply network analyses have been based on demand-driven simulation models. These models assume that nodal outflows are fixed and are always available. However, this method of simulation neglects the pressure-dependent nature of demand that is characterized by changes in actual nodal outflows particularly during critical events like major mechanical or hydra...

Progress and Perspective of Antifouling, Pressure Driven, Flat-Sheet Nanocomposite, Polymeric Membranes in Water Treatment

Membrane filtration, especially based on the size exclusion phenomenon, has long been established due to its abilities to addressing the growing demands of the clean water of the world’s population. However, widespread applications of the membranes face several challenges including chemical vulnerability, thermal deterioration, and biological degradation of the membranes that transpire while re...

Optimal Control Pressure for Leakage Minimization in Water Distribution Systems Using Imperialist Competitive Algorithm

One of the key factors affecting leakage in water distribution systems is network pressure management by putting Pressure Reduce Valves (PRV) in the flow path and optimal regulation of these vales in water networks. This study aimed at investigating optimal pressure management problems so as to minimize leakage in water distribution networks. To do so, an approach was proposed for both optimal ...
